Express Mani- Essie No More Film.

What in the world happened to my gray/yellow mood?? Well, it's still there but I was tired of the mani already.

Plus, I wanted to show off a score from Walgreens. I bought it a while back and this is my first time using it. For $4 how could I go wrong? Yup- that's right- you read it correctly- $4...Essie- No More Film cost me $4!! *Squeal!*

Don't believe it? I took a picture of their round little sticker just to show you I'm not imagining stuff.

I was thinking of a design and the thought instantly made me even more sleepy. So this will just have to be a one color deal. Plus, it's a pain in the butt to clean up (you can still see remnants of blue smudges, I can already imagine taking it off. Eesh.

Good night, sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite.

Hugs,
A.

Retro- Inspired Mani

I've been in a yellow/gray mood lately. I don't know why the colors are so appealing to me but they are. Alas, I have no yellow capris to wear with a funky gray and white top (yes, I have the outfit planned!) but I'll suffice because I definitely have these two colors in nail polish. Woop woop!

Of course I broke a nail just before I was planning on doing my nails so that threw everything into a tizzy. I used the method of using tissue paper and nail glue. It seems to be giving it some strength albeit it's also making the bed thicker. Knock on wood because I'm tired of broken nails. It's drivin' me bonkers!

Well, how about I shut my trap and get to showing you what I did with my dotting tools and some scotch tape?

Colors used:
Spoiled: Mind Your Own Beeswax
Sephora by OPI: Frankly, I don't give A-dam

Enjoy!

Now since I shut up and showed you the mani (It's the right amount of funky for me to at least be entertained by it)- here is the meaning of the colors:

Yellows: Wisdom, Joy, Happiness, Intellectual energy
Grays: Sorrow, security, maturity.

Pretty nifty, huh?

Hugs,
A.

Nail polish - Antique Greek

I couldn't wait any longer... I'm Ba-roque was calling my name big time...so were one of the colors (Greek Isles) from Sinful's Castaway collection (I have every one except Pandora.) I had to use 3 coats of Ba-roque and only one of Sinfuls.

Chloe's Nails scotch tape tutorial came in quite handy on this one. I wasn't feeling too inspired considering the time and this is all that I came up with- just a touch of teal.

Sorry for the ugly spot on my middle fingers...meetings with some managers are mind-numbing and that is the result- I peel my cuticles off til I bleed. So sad... :(

Hope you like.

Hugs, A.

Cheap nailpolish- Spoiled Score

I love nothing than a good bargain and will be the first to scoop up something if it means that my buck stretches a lot further.

The Dollar Diva in me scooped up some Spoiled nailpolish at CVS- I swear it's new- the New Stickers are just all worn. :( I love the colors I snagged this go-round. I bought I Don't Drink Cheap Wine (burgundy glittery/metallic), I'm Ba-roque (very fitting! a bronze- the glitter picked up very well in this picture), and Are Mermaids Real (a purple with gold glitter)?

So far, I love them all, but I'm Ba-roque is the winner. It's a bronze that will go so beautifully this summer and then in onto winter. Hmm...did I just manage to talk myself into going and buying 1 or 2 more before the sale ends tomorrow?? Why, yes...yes I did!

I'll post pictures when I finally get around to doing something with them.

Hope this finds you all well. Have a great evening and weekend!

Hugs, A.

Pop of Coral

Happy Sunday!

I have a hard time, very, very hard time deciding which color I like the best. I just can't pick- oranges, corals, reds, greens, blues, purples, I love how clean white is and the subdued mood- black. Anywho- today, I have to admit that corals beat out the others.

I'm getting ready for the coming week so it's time for a mani.
Sinful's Hazard and Snow Me White were clean and cheery and just what I needed.

As I'm sure most people who see my designs will tell you, I only do designs on the ring fingers- otherwise it's overwhelming and I don't like it. (That's just me being Ashley.) :)

Water marbling is how I did the design. There are a lot of great clips on Youtube and I haven't found any that are better than the rest as they all give you the same steps. The only words of advice that I can share with you is to make sure that the nail polish is opaque enough to not disappear and actually fluid enough to spread out. (I tried using Essie and it sank to the bottom- wtf?) Oh, and one last thing, I'm showing you a picture of how much tape I use. I've seen some videos where there is enough on one finger to tape all the boxes at the Post Office leading up to Christmas- you don't need it! A little dab'll do ya. And besides, tape isn't cheap, use it wisely.

I've been sporting neked nails and I don't like it! >:(

What I'm using. Nail Prep and Seche Vite from Sallys.

I painted a base white color so that the marbling will pop.

Two pieces of tape- one on top and the other wrapped around.

*sigh* so much better! :)

Vero's Challenge

Vero found out I'm a Pinning/Nail Polish snob and texted me the other day with a butterfly challenge- the Monarch Butterfly. I was in the middle of some downtime and ran to get the supplies and this is what I came up with. What do you think?

Yup, just one nail- that counts as answering a challenge! :P

My introduction to Sinful colors

I've been really enjoying nail polish recently and it's all Leslie's fault. She got me addicted to Pinterest and she realized that I won't just pin and move on, I actually do the stuff! :)
It was a .99 sale on Sinful Colors at Walgreens. I squealed at all the colors! I wish I could have gotten one of each but it wasn’t meant to be. *sigh* (Yes, Kevin laughed when I explained to him that the fun names were just as cool as the colors- like extra fries at the bottom of the McD’s bag- score!) The colors I used on this were Easy Going and Olympia. This was inspired by a friend who is going through a lot right now; she loves Cherry Trees and Cherry Blossoms.
Here are my first 6...

And this is what I was inspired to do. I call it Cheria's Cherry Blossom.
